European Solidarity Corps – it is a European Union initiative, where participants can volunteer in solidarity projects in their home country or abroad. The main goal of the European Solidarity corps is to bring together young people, who would strive to build a more inclusive society, support vulnerable people and respond to societal challenges. For young people, who want to help others, learn and improve, the European Solidarity Corps offers an inspiring and empowering experience.

People from 18 to 30 years old can participate in the program, but one can register from 17. The participants have the opportunity to choose between two options: either participating in a voluntary internship or a paid occupational activity. The project has just begun, the first participants are heading out in June 2017, but the registration is already open!

More information can be found here.

Voluntary practice
is an opportunity for young (16–29 age group) persons to ‘test’ a desired profession and a workplace, get to know the ‘kitchen’ of a favorite profession and have a job placement. During their placement, the young persons are covered with social insurance against occupational accidents at work and occupational diseases. If such persons are registered in the Labour Exchange, they retain the existing status and guarantees during the placement. On January 1, 2015, the Ministry of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania approved a new form of voluntary practice for young people. The fundamental change is that to have a job placement, one no longer needs to have an agreement with a university, which means that even young non- students are entitled to a job placement.
The form of a standard placement agreement is available on the following website (only in Lithuanian).
